Your Chance to Travel to OzWater'14 for Free

The AWA/Water Directorate Conference Attendance Award provides one outstanding young water professional with the chance to win a trip to OzWater14 free of charge. To be eligible to win this award you must have less than 7 years experience in the water industry and work at a Water Directorate member council in the water and sewerage section.

OzWater'14 is being held from 29 April – 1 May 2014 at the Brisbane Conference and Exhibition Centre. AWA provides one full registration gratis to the successful applicant valued at up to $1,690 and the Water Directorate covers the cost of travel and accommodation up to the value of $1,600 (excl GST). In addition, the Water Directorate covers the cost of attending the AWA Young Water Professionals Workshop and Breakfast. Copies of all travel and accommodation receipts must be submitted to the Water Directorate for reimbursement. Please note any costs above $1,600 will need to be paid by the winner or his/her employer. 

Last year this award was won by Tracey Hamer of MidCoast Water. Tracey wrote an excellent summary of the highlights of OzWater'13 and it is pleasing to note how valuable the experience was to her both personally and professionally. 

Recent graduates and final year graduate that are planning to work in the local government water and sewer industry are welcome to nominate.

The nomination form should be completed by the applicant and signed by his/her manager. It should then be faxed to 02 8267 3071 or emailed to estanley@waterdirectorate.asn.au. Attendance must be in accordance with the normal policies and procedures for leave at the applicant’s council. 

Nominations are due by close of business on Friday 28 March 2014. The winner will be notified by Friday 4 April 2014.
