IPWEA NSW Engineering Excellence Award

The Water Directorate sponsors an award for Innovation in Water Supply & Wastewater, awarded each year at the IPWEA NSW Annual State Conference in November. Councils nominate their innovative water projects and a team of judges travels around NSW to view the projects and make their decision on the winners.

2024

Winner: MidCoast Council, accepted by Robert Scott, Tracey Hamer and Rachael Abberton

2023

Winner: MidCoast Council, accepted by Robert Scott, Director of Engineering and Infrastructure

2022

Winner: Central Coast Council – Central Coast Water Security Plan. The plan was developed in collaboration with Hunter Water Corporate and the Department of Planning & Environment

2021

Kyogle Council won the 2021 Innovation in Water Award (postponed from 2020 due to Covid) for its Water Supply Augmentation project.

2019

Winner: Eurobodalla Shire Council won the award for Innovation in Water Supply and Wastewater for Cullendulla Sewer Rising Main Construction

2018

Hunter Water and Hunter H20 won the 2018 Category 3 Award for Innovation in Water Supply & Wastewater for Belmont & Cessnock Wastewater Treatment Plant Works Remediation project.

2017

Winner: Eurobodalla Shire Council, accepted by Royce Toohey, Support Services Engineer
Highly Commended: Narrabri Shire Council accepted by Darren Raeck, Director of Infrastructure Delivery
Highly Commended: Shoalhaven City Council, accepted by Carmel Krogh, Director Shoalhaven Water
