Welcome to the Water Directorate

Providing independent advice and technical support to Councils and Local Water Utilities across regional NSW.

Our Vision

The Water Directorate was established in 1999 as a technical resource for member councils. We provide:

  • an independent source of advice to councils on water and sewerage operations
  • direction on technical issues
  • networking opportunities for water and sewerage engineers to share knowledge and improve communication within the industry

Careers at Council features information and stories about the diversity of careers in local government and connects candidates to jobs in councils.  Most regional councils in NSW provide water and sewerage services for their communities and have a range of employment opportunities to explore.
Read about the variety of roles in local government or search for jobs via the Jobs Page or Interactive Map.
