Wyong Engineer Wins Conference Attendance Award
19 Apr 2012
We are pleased to announce that Luke Drury of Wyong
Shire Council won the AWA/Water Directorate Conference Attendance Award
and will attend OzWater'12 in Sydney from 8-10 May 2012. Luke graduated
from Newcastle University in Civil Engineering in 2006 and is currently
working as Team Leader at Wyong Shire Council. His supervisor, Greg
Cashin, believes Luke has a very promising future in the water industry
and highly recommended him as a worthy recipient of this award.
This is the ninth year that the
Executive Committee has offered this award and funding, to assist a
worthy engineer with up to 7 years experience from a member Council
water business, to attend AWA's 2011 national water conference.
The Water Directorate will provide
up to $1,600 towards the cost of travel and accommodation and AWA has
generously donated a conference registration also valued at approx
$1,600.
Four high qualified water industry
professionals nominated for the award this year. The nominees were
judged on their applications and assessment of the engineering,
environmental and professional benefits to themselves and their councils
from attending this peak water conference. Unsuccessful nominees are
strongly encouraged to renominate for this award next year.
Congratulations to Luke. We look
forward to hearing about your experiences from this year's Ozwater'12
conference in the near future.
