Water scholarship builds emerging leaders

Each year, the Water Directorate sponsors a scholarship that enables an engineer from a member Council to attend the award-winning Water Leadership Program offered by the International WaterCentre in Brisbane.

Congratulations Laljibhai Rathod from Kempsey Shire who has been awarded the NSW Water Leader Scholarship for 2017/2018. The scholarship contributes $4750 (half the course fees) plus $1000 for travel expenses.

Also attending will be runner-up, Shane Baldry, who will participating in the program thanks to partial funding from IWC and from his employer Goldenfields Water.

And lastly Sogol Ghobad of Central Coast Water has also found funding to participate, meaning a solid NSW contingent will be starting the course in Brisbane in December.

The course is designed for emerging leaders in the water industry at the project-to-middle management level, customised for the water sector through research and collaboration with experienced industry practitioners.
