Water Treatment Plant Guidelines Released

The Water Directorate is very pleased to publish the Water Treatment Plant Guidelines Residuals Reuse and Backwash Water Reclamation on behalf of our member councils. A copy has been posted to the General Manager of all financial member councils this week.

Initially in 2003 the Water Directorate published the Reuse of Sludge and Wastewater from Water Treatment Plants Guidelines. This document has now been comprehensively revised by GHD under the direction and peer review of the Water Directorate Water Subcommittee.

The newly released Water Treatment Plant Guidelines for Residuals Reuse and Backwash Water Reclamation will assist local government councils to determine the desirability and viability of reusing sludge and/or wastewater from water treatment plants.
