WIOA Operator of the Year goes to Mark Gogala of Orange

This year’s WIOA Operators Award has been won by Mark Gogala, Orange City Council’s Water Treatment Team Leader. Mark and his team of three operators produces some of the best quality water in NSW.

Mark was commended for leading the upgrade of filter media and backwash nozzles at the Icely Road Water Filtration Plant. This included researching, planning and working through challenges to deliver a successful change-out in a timely manner. The project yielded a water quality improvement with lower turbidity – resulting in Orange being awarded winner of the 2015 NSW WIOA Water Taste Test.
