12 Aug 2020
NSW Operator of the Year 2020
This is the most prestigious award presented at annually at each WIOA NSW conference . The award is presented to operators of water or wastewater treatment facilities to recognise excellent performance, initiative and all round attention to detail.
The winner of the NSW Operator of the Year Award for 2020 was
Matty Agnew - Senior Operator, Water Management & Treatment, North at
MidCoast Council.
A few words in his nomination submission written by his colleagues:
Matty is an operator who goes above and beyond his position description to ensure the smooth operation and delivery of water and sewer to our customers. In the past year the MidCoast region of NSW has faced severe drought and catastrophic bushfires. Matty has been instrumental in ensuring the continued supply of water and sewer services during these challenging times. He was an essential part of the urgent Gloucester water carting project that delivered potable water from an alternate supply to ensure safe drinking water was maintained to nearly 3000 people in the communities of Gloucester and Barrington over the last Christmas/New Year period.
Well done Matty.
