Save the Date: Water Directorate Dam Forum

04 Sep 2013
The Water Directorate is hosting a one day Dam Forum on Wednesday 9 October in Sydney at the Adina Hotel Sydney, Harbourside.

The Dam Forum will provide the opportunity for regional NSW dam owners to discuss the latest government policies regarding the management of dams and to participate in the development of guidelines for LWUs to build and augment dams.

Two case studies by member councils, Nambucca Shire and Armidale Dumaresq, will be presented on their respective experiences with the approval process to build and dame and issues that have to be resolved to make a dam safe.

In addition, a facilitated discussion will consider the development of a checklist for dam surveillance and necessary steps to build and augment dams, the development of Dam Safety Guidelines for LWUs by the Water Directorate and a gap analysis will be undertaken for dam owners to identify any trends across the industry that require technical assistance.

The one day Dam Forum is free for staff from member councils. The program and registration form are now available.
