Practical publications to assist local water utilities
27 Jun 2016
Three new publications are being distributed to Water Directorate members this month:
- Chemical Specifications – for ordering chemicals commonly used in the water industry
- Water Loss Toolkit – including planning guide and operators’ guide
- Healthy Catchments, Healthy Water – a guide for NSW landholders about managing land within drinking water catchments
Chemical Specifications USB
The Chemical Specifications resource consists of templates for 71 chemicals commonly used in water and wastewater treatment. This resource is delivered via USB so that you can adapt the templates to your own requirements when ordering water treatment chemicals from suppliers. The contents of the USB are identical to the zipped file emailed to member Councils in May. This project will assist local water utilities to prepare and implement Drinking Water Quality Management Systems and Plans.
Water Loss Toolkit Planning Guide and Operators’ Guide
Central NSW Council (Centroc) produced this Toolkit to help councils and water utilities better manage water losses, thereby saving water and energy as well as deferring capital investment in new water resources. The Water Directorate funded the printing and distribution of the Toolkit beyond the Centroc region, because the information is relevant and useful to our member Councils across New South Wales.
Healthy Catchments, Healthy Water – managing land within drinking water catchments: a practical guide for NSW landholders
Rous Water produced this informative and appealing booklet as a guide for landholders who seek to balance land use with protection of our waterways. As for the Water Loss Toolkit, the Water Directorate funded the printing and distribution outside the Rous Water region, because the information is relevant and useful to our member Councils across the State.
