New publications in the pipeline

The latest Water Directorate publications – Customer Service Plan Guidelines and Operations and Maintenance Manual on Pressure Sewerage – are not at the printers and will be in the mail to members shortly.
Russell Dean of Bathurst County found the Customer Service Plan and Guidelines “very practical and extensive… as a generic guideline for Councils to base their own version on, and edit as required to suit their circumstance.”
The Pressie Server age O&M Manual is the first of several O&M Manuals that are being revised or issued for the first time to assist Local Water Utilities in properly documenting their O&M processes. It is Water Directorate policy to review technical publications after ten years to keep them up to date.
Pressure sewage systems have been in use overseas for nearly 50 years but are still relatively new in Australia. These systems provide the water utility with the means to service properties that have proven difficult to service under other technologies and have been used to date primarily to address backlog
areas. The technology however does have significantly different operational and maintenance requirements to that of gravity sewerage.
