LGNSW Asbestos Management Training Workshops 2014

Local Government NSW, together with the NSW Government, is assisting councils to understand their role in managing asbestos and to adopt the Model Asbestos Policy issued to NSW councils under section 23A of the Local Government Act 1993.
During 2014 Local Government NSW will hold five Asbestos Management Training Workshops to explore the roles and responsibilities of councils in safely management asbestos. The workshops will equip council staff to develop or review an asbestos policy for their council or ensure related procedures are up to date and compliant.
The registration fee is $75 per person (incl GST) and online registration is via the website

In addition to the workshops, discussion groups will offer councils a chance to informally discuss the process of preparing and implementing an asbestos policy. The sessions are for council staff members with a role in writing, reviewing, approving or delegating the task of preparing an asbestos policy. The sessions are free for NSW councils to register one person to attend. The maximum group size will be 15. Upcoming sessions include Wednesday 26 March, 2pm -4pm in Sydney and Wednesday 23 July, 2pm – 4pm in Wollongong.
