Coffs Harbour Operator wins WIOA Operator of the Year Award

18 Apr 2013
Once again this year we had a high level of interest in the Water Directorate sponsored NSW Operator of the Year award. Nine excellent nominations were submitted making it difficult for the judges to choose. However, the Water Directorate is pleased to advise that Neville Woodward, Superintendent at Sawtell Water Reclamation Plant, Coffs Habour City Council was the winner. Neville was presented with a set of trophies at the WIOA conference dinner last Thursday 11 April 2013.

Neville's nomination noted that he has operated and maintained the Sawtell plant for 34 years, through several augmentations and upgrades. Neville has taken school tours through plant, delighting in educating and informing the students in the art of sewage treatment. He also takes great pride in the appearance and presentation of the Sawtell plant, from the length of the grass through to the condition of the lunch room. All the equipment, regardless of age, is operational and effective at all times.

As the winner of the NSW Operator of the Year award, Neville Woodward will attend the upcoming WIOA Study tour to New Zealand in 2013. Congratulations to Neville on winning this award and for his outstanding service to the water operators' industry in NSW.
