Review of Dams Safety Bill 2015
This publication details the regulatory impacts on Councils and Local Water Utilities when the new
Dams Safety Bill 2015 becomes law and replaces the
Dams Safety Act 1978.
The new legislation will have resourcing implications for LWUs that are responsible for the operation and maintenance of prescribed/declared dams.
The publication contains a table outlining each section of the new legislation, how it that differs from the existing legislation, and a brief summary of the likely impacts of the changes on LWUs.
The review was produced for the Water Directorate by NSW Water Solutions, NSW Public Works, NSW Department of Finance, Services and Innovation.
